Qantas Frequent Flyer - Mileage Plus Status Match?

Wondering if anyone *G has treied for a QFF status matych? Were you successful? how do you do it?:)

In the past QF has not matched 1K much less PE, so doubt there is any chance. All the reported status matches that I've seen turn out to have a corporate account tie-in (so status would be granted in QF even if there is no other airline status existing).
