Iberia Airlines Iberia Plus - IB Tier Points

Hey everyone, I've had an IB question for ages and found no answer on their website.
From what I understand, Iberia call their Tier Points 'PAB' which I don't even know what it stands for.
Can I earn PAB only by flying with Grupo Iberia? Does that include oneworld?
Does IB have some sort of Miles-PAB conversion system?
I will be flying:
MAD-JFK-MAD Y IB
MAD-LHR-ACC-LHR-MAD Y IB/BA, the only IB operated leg being MAD-LHR
soon and I would like to know how many PAB that would earn
Thank you very much in advance!
Welcome to FT, ACV-OW.
You can find all this information on the Iberia web site, under the "Iberia Plus" tab:
PAB = "Punto Aéreo Básico", and earned on IB, Binter, Vueling, and OW flights.
Miles don't figure into the equation at all. Points earned are based on a convoluted algorithm based on distance flown and fare paid. Also keep in mind that elite years run 1 April - 31 March so any PABs earned on a flight before April will likely not do you any good with respect to elite status.
It's impossible to say how much you'll earn for those flights, since we don't know the fare basis. With IB generally speaking only the most expensive economy fares earn "full" points, cheap fares will earn only a small fraction.
IB usually offer quite a few bonus opportunities for specific routes, checking in online, buying online, etc., so it's possible to earn more bonus points than PABs when flying on cheap fares.
All that said, Iberia Plus is the worst FFP in the world (at least among the alliances): their earning is crap and their redemptions cost nearly triple most other OW carriers. They do treat their plats well with upgrades, limo, overdraft, etc., but it's nearly impossible to get to that level without flying in J long-haul every week. I'd recommend putting your miles for this trip somewhere else. AA or LA are both better options.

It is in fact pretty easy to know the points you will accrue. IB has a fix point chart:
Log in to your IB account.
Go to You IB PLus, Offers & Partners, Flights, then IB or OW, and at the bottom you will have links to accrual and spending charts.
For your MAD-JFK-MAD, you will earn:
Coach 600PAB
Full Coach 900PAB
Business 1200PAB
If you booked online on IB site, you will get double flying points, but PAB will remain the same.
Now for the OW flight, you will get:
Coach 190PAB
Full Coach 650PAB
Business 830PAB

I had last week an LHR - IAD in Business.
I got 450 IB points + 225 tier IB points.
The same for the flight back.
Flight was not booked the IB web site.
Hope this easy example helps.

Just to clarify:
IB has increased PAB accrual for North Atlantic routes, (AA-BA-IB ATI) therefore PAB has been "lightyear" updated which means IB PLUS is now more atractive for Frequent Flyers, coach RT (Y or cheap sale fares) 600 PAB, Business RT (whatever class) 900 PAB , First RT (not available on IB metal, but code shared on BA,AA) 1200 PAB, this means 4 RT north atlantic will make you OW sapphire (IB Gold), there are also bonus points for IB Gold +50% and IB platinum +75%, but this not count as PAB.
That's interesting news. It seems the tie-up with BA and AA have caused them to have to be more competitive. So now you can earn a business-class flight Spain-USA for every seven paid business class flights (versus six on AA provided you can get a saver award).
Of course with Diamond Club it's more like two, but hey...if you want to fly OW. ;)
