I have done my booking from Kingfisher airlines on 24th february 2011, from kandla to mumbai dated 9th march for 2 adults.
I paid 11764/-
On 26th february when i am checking for same destination, same date rate is decresed (i.e. 10764)
When I tried to talk to kingfisher airlines customer care, they rudly replied that this is the way we charge :(
I felt insulting when i talked to them, I will never never use service of kingfisher in future and i am going to post this in so many online forums so other flyers also aware about kingfisher's behaviour

Welcome to FT!
This happens. Sometimes (mostly) fares go up after you book, and on the odd occasion they do fall. Nothing to do, unless you booked a fully flex ticket that you booked initially, which you could then cancel and rebook without penalty.

It is a risk that you have to take. Air fares can and will change with every passing day. Some airlines have sophisticated systems that ensure that they remain competitive and on par with its rivals.
My advice is that once you purchase an air ticket and unless its fully refundable then dont bother checking the fare again for your dates of travel.
Do your research, if you feel that the price you are quoted is right then go ahead and purchase and do not regret.

No one cheated you. Airlines reprice their ticket every day (or every hour!) depending on the demand on a particular route. Some times, a ticket starting at a different point of origin, and transiting at your origin and going to your destination will be cheaper than your ticket. Its all to do with revenue management.
Eg: Ahemadabad-Kandla-Mumbai might be cheaper than Kandla-Mumbai on the same airline.
You paid the price for your seat as what it was during that transaction. I don't see any "cheating" !

You deserved to be replied to in an insulting manner if you persisted after they explained that fares constantly change. You seem oblivious to the real world.

So if the fare had gone up, would you have contacted them to make sure they charged you for the difference?
I didn't think so.
Airlines sell tickets at many different price points.
I remember trying to book a UA ticket from PHL - DEN. Found a good price for a particular weekend and then called my relatives to ask if that weekend was good for them. Came back to book the tix and the price doubled. Five minutes is all it took.
OP this is how it works in most of the world. There are some exceptions like with UA in which one can get a voucher for the difference.

Prices change all the time.
If Kingfisher charged you the lower fare, they have to refund your original ticket - which is a difference of 1000 Rupees (US $22) and then you will be charged a service fee for the refund process.. which could be more than US$25 (around 1200 Rupees).. so in effect, you will end up paying 200 Rupees more by going on the cheaper fare.
