I'm looking at a possibly booking a KE flight from SEA-ICN. Is it possible to choose seats at time of booking?
I'm looking at very long flights in Y. Advance seat selection is a must!
Seat selection is typically part of the process.

KE did not always allow seat selection at time of booking. Now there is some language on their website that seems to indicate seat choice is allowed only if the passenger is a logged-in member of their frequent flier program.
I don't want to credit the miles to the Korean Air program. I also don't want to fly without advance seat choice.
Have you booked on their website and gotten seat choice in Y? Did you have to attach your frequent flier number to the ticket to be able to pick your seats? Were you able to change seats later?

I have chosen seats while being logged in to my acct, but Ive also done it another way by using their online chat function & having an agent assign seats for me. It may be worth giving that a try.

Were you able to get seat assignments but still post miles to another FF program?
I have done this with SAS (got an account so I could log on and get/change seat assignments, but not credit the miles to the SAS program).

i think the online chat people could answer these questions too, or just call KE directly.....theyre usually quite clear with you regarding what they can and cannot do.

or on their website, the chat button is in the green bar in the middle of the home page.

when i first began flying KE, i credited to DL a few times.... i believe I was able to choose seats in advance.... i vaguely remember calling them to choose seats AND put in the DL #, but its been a long time since i did i that way, so you should double check.

I booked a cheap return flight NRT-ICN and signed up to Skypass. I did not realise online seat selection closes 48 hours before departure, so I showed up at the airport and requested an aisle seat. Turns out when I got to the aircraft that it was business class! So I got a nice upgrade by not selecting online in advance lol :)
Also during check in, I requested my miles get posted to Delta, who I signed up with just specifically for this flight, as it seems easier to keep miles alive with Delta instead of KE, which is important as I am on a Oneworld explorer and post to AA mainly.
