US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - New Inflight Announcement

On our LGA-RIC flight today, the FA started her pre-departure spiel with:
FAA regulations mandate that all passengers know where the flight desk is. The flight deck is located in the front of the plane, on the left as you entered the aircraft. Unauthorized personnel are prohibited from entering the flight deck.
This is the first time I heard this (the Firday flight from LGA-RIC did not have it). Did anyone else hear this today? Or was it just something the FA did?

I heard a similar announcement on a ORD-CLT segment on Saturday. I did not hear it on the connection out of CLT to GSO. Sounds like it is a new annoucement, but not fully communicated yet.

Next thing you know, they'll be informing us that it would be "unwise" to open the emergency exit doors while the plane is in the air.

Sound like this is a new FAA requirement. I too heard this announcement on all 5 of my HP flights PHX-LAS-SAN-PHX-PVR-PHX this past week.

It's the craziest announcement and, yes, the TSA has required that airlines start making it. I guess they think that the general public is brainless, most likely because of their experience with many of their own employees.

I thought the flight desk was somewhere near the US Airways Club.

Look for many more clueless requirements from the TSA in the future.

Nope. TSA = Terminal Stupidity Agency. They are responsible for seeking out the most brainless people and most moronic regulations. Then they tie those two together at each security checkpoint. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
Oh, yeah, and they also have a lot of useless folks standing around gabbing all the time. I guess that's a good example of our tax dollars at work...
So, what's the next new announcement that the FAA will require? "Ladies and gentlemen, the lavatories are at the rear of the plane. I would like to infrorm you that those are the only places where you're allowed to..."
I do like the idea of telling folks to keep the outer doors closed during flight, though... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I was sure it stands for Twits Standing Around.
