California - Hotel near Hoag in Newport Beach

I am looking for a hotel recommendation in Newport Beach, close to Hoag Hospital.
Thanks for any personal recommendations. It does not have to be a luxury hotel.

A couple of solid, basic hotels within about 10 minutes of Hoag are:

Plenty of restaurants near each, as well.

The Bluewater Grill is a nice seafood restaurant near Bay Shores. If anyone in your party has a birthday within a 4 week window of your stay (two weeks before/after your birthday) and you register on their website they will send you a gift certificate.

While in the area...tour upscale environs by taking Newport Blvd West towards ocean and over bridge above Pacific Coast Highway.

Bay Shores Peninsula was superb. Great location and very friendly service. We were surprised to see that we had been upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite, with a spectacular view of the harbor. In addition, the suite included a full kitchen and dining room with a table and 8 chairs. This would be a perfect family holiday destination. The hotel provides complementary guest parking, buffet breakfast, complementary WiFI, boogie boards and beach towels. We paid $189.00, but this was early March. No doubt the rate would be higher during the summer months. The drive to Hoag was less than 10 minutes.
