I am searching for the perfect womens travel wallet with a strap. Something I can keep in my laptop backpack when flying or working but can take out at night and wear across body or as a wristlet. I just don't have room to carry an extra purse at this point.

Ideally I'd like organizer pockets for ID, cards, cash, receipts, phone and 1 lipstick. All the ones I've seen are too ugly to carry at night or are too big to fit in my laptop bag as a wallet during the day.

Suggestions??

What's "too ugly"?

I recently saw this one which is a bit plain but has RFID blocking for your passport/cc http://www.magellans.com/store/Wallets___Money_Belts___WalletsSV140?Args=#

Otherwise a lot of bag designers make wristlet wallets. I think I've seen them from Hobo international, Kate Spade, Coach, and etc. There's also variants of the "Chain Wallet" like the one Chanel or a recent one from Marc by Marc Jacobs. If you prefer practical, I think Baggallini and Eagle Creek make similar "shoulder strap wallets"

My all-time favorite was from the "Everthing's $10 Store" in the (domestic US) air terminal. It was perfect (they had several to select from), until the cat peed on it.

BTW, black leather, simple but not ugly, perfect for what you described

The Selby by Hobo sounds a lot like what you described. http://www.hobobags.com/accessories_wallets/pl/c/12.html

Ameribag Baglett. Great choice of colors/materials, designed to fit inside their regular-sized bags.

Something like this? (http://www.ebags.com/product/derek-alexander/alternatives-small-organizer/18292?productid=65198&rlid=detail&rcode=res11021806882439141106996)

This has been my go-to travel wallet for several years. The only thing it doesn't do is hold sunglasses. It works well as a cross-body bag, and it's thin enough that I can wear it under a blazer with no noticeable bulge.

I'm currently using the Coral Gables bag by Lindsay Phillips (http://www.lindsay-phillips.com/hbags-102841tte.aspx). While the zipper is a bit casual looking, it does have card slots for cards and enough space for a packet of tissues, cellphone, lip balm and a few more small things. I have it in black and also in the pewter and mainly use the bottom half. The chain was too heavy, so I replaced it with a fabric strap.

I also have a Louis Vuitton Epi Leather Pochette Accessories (http://www.louisvuitton.com/en/flash/index.jsp;jsessionid=3WWTAZCA3GUDSCRBXUCFAFIKEG4RA UPU?direct1=cate_m&direct2=cat10029&direct3=cat10035), which is just a simple leather clutch. (Can't be worn cross body though) I use it together with a card holder since it doesn't have any internal pockets. The main downside is that Epi leather doesn't take crushing well.

One of my all time favourite brands is Antonini Leather (http://www.antonini.com/site_eng/default_eng.asp). They have the thinnest softest leather in all colours including metallics and over a hundred styles. I have several of their wallet/small purse/clutch/cross body pieces (though their focus is mainly small leather goods) I bought from Bonnie Leather in the basement of the Manulife building on Bloor St in Toronto but the brand doesn't seem to have a good internet presence :(

Other brands to look out for are Hobo International, Lodis (http://www.lodis.com/fashion/shop-womens/handbags) (their fashionable colours and prints are mainly available in boutiques and department stores), and even Lesportsac.

Hope this helps :)

The picture doesn't do it justice. I'm on my second one and I've given it as gifts to many female business associates. They all love it.

I wear it to the airport and on flights so that all important documents and credit cards are close by. Once I arrive at my destination, this wallet is very compact and fits into the safe.

I generally don't use it when I've arrived at my destination because I can't fit glasses or other bulky things in it.

Ju Ju Be has a couple wristlets that come in a variety of colors & two sizes.

There's the smaller Be Mine (http://www.shopjujube.com/Product.aspx?l=00030006000000000000&p=JJB01236) and the Be Major (http://www.shopjujube.com/Product.aspx?l=00030007000000000000&p=JJB01297).

There's also the HAIKU Large Zip Wallet (http://www.zappos.com/haiku-by-sharon-eisenhauer-haiku-large-zip-wallet).

Good luck!

This has been my go-to travel wallet for several years. The only thing it doesn't do is hold sunglasses. It works well as a cross-body bag, and it's thin enough that I can wear it under a blazer with no noticeable bulge.

I ordered the Derek Alexander Alternatives Small Organizer from eBags (so I could also score miles through Sky Mall) now I see they have run out! Still available through Amazon though here (http://www.amazon.com/Derek-Alexander-Alternatives-Small-Organizer/dp/B004C0U84C). So far I love it, small enough to be a wallet I stick in my laptop backpack, but big enough to use as a purse in the evenings. I put my iPhone, cash, credit cards and a lipstick in there easily. Nice quality leather.
