US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - US1 flew UA and used RCC this trip

I had the most enjoyable UA flights ever this trip. On my PIT-ORD, they upgraded me to F/C since the flight was sold out and they needed seats in the rear and they did the same on the ORD-PIT return. I loved the commment made to me by the UA agents, you're Chairman's Preferred, so you deserve it. I have had that comment made to me twice this year!?!?

Anyway, the ORD-DFW and back was in E+ thankfully. I got moved up from the back of the plane again because of my US1 status. Thanks UA!

What I found rather peculiar was the amount of staring I received when I was in the RCC in DFW and ORD. I have never noticed people staring so intently at me, I almost thought my zipper was down!? LOL It's almost like they knew I wasn't a true UA flyer. Ok paranoia over.

Yes, the computers seem completely linked now. I was on a couple US Shuttle flights and at the US Club and at check in in DC they noticed I was US1 and 1K. The person in DC looked at it a second and said "you must spend half your like on planes". Im glad its in there, it will make things easier.

Was it the passengers or the agents doing the staring? (Was it perhaps your imagination?) I only ask because I use my US card in the RCC all the time. In fact, it's been over a year since I've actually been in a US club! Never once got stared at!

Same with me. Almost never use a US club anymore, but use RCCs all the time with my US membership. Never noticed staring...

It was fellow PAX, the club agents greated me very nicely. Infact, Jan at the DFW club was very helpful and sweet. No one ever stared at me so intently in a US club, I left uncomfortable for a bit. It was just weird.

Also the F/A's on the ORD-PIT return even thanked me for flying UA instead of US!? I recieved much better service and a pleasant attitude in F/C on UA than I have in F/C on US in the last 2 months. I hate to admit it but I liked the use of glass in UA's F/C versus the plastic in US's F/C. And the fact the when seated in coach you get the WHOLE can of your beverage and not a cup filled with ice and a little bit of beverage.

I'm really happy with United and have flown them a lot this year. I haven't tabulated it, but I've probably flown a whole lot more miles with US Airways (though, to be fair, roughly equal segments because I no longer fly US Airways out west since there schedule is awful, but United does nothing for me up and down the eastern corridor).

The United crews are great, the United aircraft, airports, clubs, etc., are great. Food service surpasses US Airways (as long as you don't mind eating the same meal all the time).

Many United agents have gone out of their way to recognize my US Airways status, whether it is simply to let me know that my miles will get credited to my US Airways account or whether it is a "thanks for trying us out" kinda statement.

This alliance is truly a match made in the heavens for me, far more than the previous AA agreement which only had a few tangible benefits (club access was one, that's the same; mileage reciprocity was one, and that's the same; however, AA/US would allow cross-carrier upgrade awards, which is HUGE for me, and UA/US doesn't. No big worries, I've solved that problem by charging everything in sight to my new UA MP Visa).
