Diners Club Club Rewards - Time To Cash Out and Close DC (US) Account?

I realize most of my concern here has been posted elsewhere in other threads, but overall..how do you all feel?

This business of not notifying Cardmembers BEFORE a benefit change doesn't make me happy.

First a change in the due date/float period (glad I caught it, as I would have had late fees incurred)

Next dropping the Club Plus? I had anticipated my spending for the month of January to use Club Plus, and to not be given warning when I've already spent on the card puts me in a bit of a jam.

I am now concerned that the Club Rewards program will have major changes with an equal dose of "no warning", ie "sorry, we decided to drop all of our airline partners, as 'the contract stated blah blah blah'"

Is anybody else considering cashing out their Rewards and canceling their card, or are most of you going to ride it out?

Yeah, more changes to the negative. The reduction in cycle length, will cost me a few days interest that my money earned sitting in a money market account, but in reality just brings the card more inline with other chintzy MC branded products. As for Club Plus, I didn't realize that was going anywhere, but I didn't have occasion to use the feature and carry a balence. I would think if you were looking to float a balance, there have to be better rates with other cards.

I will say the CB customer service has been a lifesaver for me recently, so I am staying put. In November/December my account was compromised, and it wasn't until a slew of international transactions popped up (in places I was not) that the fraud department caught on and shut it down. I had to audit my last few months of activity as it turned out here were charges made that I didn't realize were fraud until after the fact and I already paid those statements  They did go to great lengths to make the remediation of the previous statements as painless as it could be.

I love to pay my acct. off early--hate debt + the float just isn't worth it for 1% a year. But loss of benefits without notice is a bad sign. I'm closing my card as soon as I get home. I'm keeping it only for lounge access at MIA on Feb. 20.
I prefer the new Hyatt Visa.

UPDATE: I have finally pulled the plug on my DC card. I phoned to ask one last time for a fee waiver & was told 'still NO.'
I explained to Bert/ Burt of Retention desk that I now prefer the Hyatt Visa for earnings & lack of forex fee. He made no argument to keep me. He just politely said 'goodbye' after 5 years.

BTW, the MIA Club America lounges were inside security in the wrong terminals, so I refused to subject myself to 2 lines & double TSA action to get in!
