Hey, gang --

I just purchased a ticket on usairways.com (B class fare), and figured I'd see what would happen by clicking the Upgrade button.

I get some check boxes to tick off for each flight, and a pull-down asking whether I'm using 500-mile upgrades or systemwides. As a CP, I just want to automatically upgrade as we usually do, without using the systemwide. I didn't want to start pushing buttons without checking here first... will I actually get upgraded, even though it asks for which type of cert I'll be using? Don't want to think I've upgraded when I actually haven't.

Thanks!

Call the CP desk - I would not waste even 20 seconds trying to do it online.

I've never had a CP agent mess something up whereas the website has screwed me so many times you'd think we were dating. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I've risked this a few times (on the Y/B labeled PIT-LAX/SFO fares). I place the CC information in, and then hit "apply upgrades." I choose to use 500 milers (since I'm CP and therefore have all I can eat). If you select the two (or more) flights to be upgraded, it will kick you into the "select premium seat" screen, where you can grab your F seat of choice. It will then ticket the whole thing with your original seat assignment in F.

However, because I've seen some weird stuff when using upgrades from "premium" award tickets, I still call the CP desk and verify seats that I've "upgraded at booking." Twice now, however, everything has worked just fine. I just bought number three today http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif.
