Title says it all. Anyone had success with paying for an exit row on this flight? It doesn't seem to be part of the 'Preferred Seating' program - or at least that is what the call centre told me... obviously an exit row would be a blessing on this longhaul (well 91/2 hour) flight.

Hawaiian Airlines right?
The "Preferred Seat Sales" page (which took a litle bit of digging to find) lists:
. Specific Bulkhead seats
and
. Specific Exit row seats
..as the two options... for USD$25 on Transpacs (which sounds like an absolute bargain IMO!)
Available from the 24 hour mark....upt to 30 minutes prior to departure.
Says "Location of purchase" is
.Web at time of check in
.Kiosk at time of check in
.Agent at time of check in
.Service podium at gate
Good Luck!! ^

Call centre is saying that is 'tran-pacs' from mainland to Hawaii only. Hence my confusion... I agree $25 would be a super bargain!!!
So was hoping might be some people who can offer some insight.

So it is confirmed you can't prepay for exit rows SYD-HNL.
You can't check-in online too right?
So how does one get an exit row?
Alternatively - if I place the two of us in the aisle seats in a middle bank of three - will the airline move us to be sitting together?

It depends on how full the flight is. It's possible that you might be able to keep the middle seat empty; then again, some people don't request seats ahead of time or check in online, and if the flight is full, late arrivals might get seated in your middle seat. I personally only remember being reseated once (on NZ HNL-AKL by the then AQ staff), but I remember flights where the middle seat I was hoping to keep empty didn't stay that way, so I ended up reseating myself to be next to mr honu (not sure if it happened on JQ, NZ, QF or HA). You can't really tell for sure if your middle seat will remain empty until the door closes and your flight leaves the gate... good luck!:)
