Just curious - it looks like in order to submit your entry, you have to click on a Facebook icon and connect with Facebook. Does this make your entry public on Facebook?

It may, but it also gives SAS FB access to all your FB friends. I declined entry in the contest because of this. I think being friends with SAS FB should be enought and I don't want them to be able to advertise through my FB page.

I tried it, and it posts on your wall AND on the wall of the friend you select to go with you (It seems they also need to be on facebook).
I declined the contest beacuse of this, i can remove the entries on my own wall but having them post on the friends wall too was too much for me.

I stayed away from it since I'm not on FB at all yet. (And I don't plan on being there either)

However, it may be the only way to get in touch with SAS CS regarding complaints. I've filed two of them now, 12 and 6 weeks ago and neither has gotten a response. :(

SAS FB team are really good about handling issues when you contact them. Not only are they fast and efficient, but you don't necessarily have to make a phone call depending on your problem. I would definately recommend contacting them with any cs related issue (complaint or compliment).

Same here! Rather keep my FB page to myself and not leave it to SAS.

If I visit the SAS FB page, I can see that the team over there is doing a great job. I just think that as a customer, I shouldn't have to expose myself, my personal data, my questions, my travel pattern or my EB number to get help in a timely fashion.

I wonder if it shows if you have customized privacy. My wall is actually private to everyone, and my friends are private to all but a few. AFAIK, if I comment or 'like' something on another friend's wall, the fact I've done so doesn't show up in the feed on my friends' FB pages based on my settings.

I'm not a big FB fan and only joined last year in order to be updated about an event that interested me. I'm not really keen on having people I know from one network eavesdrop on who I'm socializing with in another venue.

I don't have such a big problem with a comment like "SusanDK entered the SK contest" but I don't want my entire text entry made public to the world.

I've never gone to the normal SAS FB page, so maybe I'll have to check that out and ask.

Thanks!

You can always send them a private message instead of posting on their wall. IME when I have posted on their wall I simply state the issue (typically generic), they pm me back, and I send any personal information through a pm anyway.
