My wife and I will be flying TG to Europe in early October for our honeymoon. We fly from HKG to BKK and then either fly First Class to Rome (FCO) or Paris (CDG).

I've heard that TG offers at least 3 different F class configs: Jet Airways' leased planes with F Class Suites, TG's new pod seats and their older recline-seat.

Does anyone have an idea of what might be offered on BKK-FCO or BKK-CDG? FCO is on 744 and CDG is on 773. Would love the Jet Airways suites but settle for the newer pods!

Many thanks!

Either will be a great trip, but I would go for suites on the 777-300ER on the BKK/CDG run.

The FCO run is performed by the 7443 (new pod seats in First) but you could always come up against a late equipment swap. The 777-300ER is a safer bet for CDG.

Also note TG operates a double daily to CDG on Wed, Fri & Sun and a daily on the remaining days. Rome gets a four times weekly service. Perhaps the greater frequency to CDG is a plus?

+1 for CDG because of the plane and F product on offer (not because of the airport :))

If you're connecting, FCO is a dump. CDG isn't really that great either but at least it has an FCL and is still much better than FCO.

FCO (together with MAD) is one of the worst routes when it comes to last minute config swap. I would stay far away from F on that route.

Another +1 for CDG.

One more thumbs up for CDG - the equipment, it is Thai cabin crews' most coveted route so you often meet exceptional crew (not necessarily in terms of service !), and it is not FCO - an airport that actually makes CDG T1 look good !!!

Thanks for the advice everyone! It looks like CDG is a winner hands down (compared to FCO!).

We will fly BKK-CDG-BKK on their 773. Hopefully they are still using the Jet Airways leases and we can enjoy the suites!

I was planning on booking the FCO-BKK flight, and accidently ran across this thread -

They have the private suites on the CDG-BKK route. Take a look at the pictures in the thread.

The aircraft on that route has rave reviews.
