Diners Club Club Rewards - VAT Reclaim Service

I don´t know if this is a relatively new feature or not but I just noticed that my Guide to Insurance and Other Benefits lists a VAT Reclaim Service.

My father´s company used to use a Swiss accounting firm specializing in VAT refunds but that was a while ago. The DC Guide doesn´t provide much in terms of detail but I wonder if anyone here has used this and for what purposes, i.e. what kinds of VAT/MWSt. etc.

DC charges a fee but I wonder if it is as much as the tax-free shopping people charge for simple retail purchases - or less.

My wife has twice tried to seek additional information about this service, which is not new. The USA based customer service knew nothing specific and gave her a telephone number in the UK (I think). The phone was answered by a machine, message left, no return call.

If they actually have this service it might make Diners worth having.

I have been told, but have never tried it, that if you go to Europe on biz that you can recover the VAT on your hotel, meals and travel expenses.

Can Diners do this for us?
