Brazil - recommendations in Vitoria, ES

hi. i'll be making a visit to Vitoria, in the state of Espirito Santo. Just wondering if anyone has a): ever been b): can recommend places to visit or c): all the above plus more?^

There are two active contributors to the Brazil Forum who can help. One lives in Vitoria now and the other did live there a few years ago. I am not an expert about ES. Just to make it easier for those who know:

1) When will you go?
2) What do you need to know about?

Places to visit are easier to deal with. The tourism part of the city of Vitoria website is fairly decent. It is all in Portuguese only. if you don't know Portuguese just translate the text with Google Translate, which does a fairly OK job on standard tourist references.
