I was on the LAX-PIT redeye Sunday night. Requested a glass of white wine and bottle of water. Much to my surprise, the wine arrived in an actual glass! Snack was the usual choice of grilled chicken or shrimp over pasta salad, plus cheesecake.

The flight out from PIT on Friday night, we'd gotten the same snack, but plastic cup for the wine, so I was surprised to see glass on the way back. Anyone else spot this lately?

(I'd done a weekend run to attend a roller-coaster event at Knott's Berry Farm, the Winter Solace. Coming home we hit some pretty serious turbulence for a bit, enough that I joked that was the most airtime-filled ride of the weekend http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif )

Glassware was used both ways PIT-PHX and PHX-PIT last week for Lunch and Dinner service. Excellent FA on the PHX-PIT flight. Of course, I had brought a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts onboard for all the FA's, and that seemed to put them in a much happier mood from the start. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I was wondering when they'd revert. I flew DCA-CLT-DFW-PIT-DCA shortly after Presidents' Day, and on the 3 segments where I was upgraded we got plastic cups.

Off the subject, here's a tip for DCA flyers: if you haven't used web check-in, don't forget the kiosks by the shuttle desk (near security entry to gates 35-45). I arrived at 5:40am for a 6:20 flight and discovered a horrendous line (folks trying to get out after DCA was closed on account of a major snowstorm the prior weekend). Worse, all the nearby kiosks were out of order. The downstairs kiosks saved my bacon.
