Hi All,

Has anyone had any experience with booking a non-refundable rate and later finding a lower rate with Fairmont? I booked a non-refundable rate a few months ago and today found a considerably lower rate on fairmont.com through the 99 hour sale. I called customer service and they informed me the rate cannot be changed as my initial reservation was non-refundable. I know I've had non-refundable rates lowered at SPG properties in the past, has anyone had any luck with Fairmont? Thanks!

My thinking is that a non-ref rate should be exactly that. An offer was made and you accepted as you thought the price was acceptable at the time. I suppose that is the risk of booking a non-ref rate.

Best solution? Book an additional night at the discounted rate! ;)

Or maybe ask for a couple of pity-drink coupons at check-in.

Some exceptions have been made at Fairmonts in the past.. but the management has a right to refuse to book you at the new lower rate.

Hi, where do you find these 99 hour sale? I was checking 2/26 weekend Miami rate, on Fairmont websit it's over $500 per night, but Hotels.com is having $202 per night? (says expire 9PM Pacific Time and charging over 25% in tax and handling fee) I would prefer booking the room from Fairmont if I can get same promotional rate? appreciate any advise, thanks!

I've done price matching with Fairmont reservations a number of times.. the fact is instead of paying a third party commission, Fairmont prefers to keep reservations internal and will price match third party websites as long as you can walk the reservationist through it and prove it.

I've found it important to print out proof of pricing and emailing to reservations at hotel or central. With proof of pricing, reservations will honor algorithms of specific room type and length of stay.. Make sure you have as wide of range of dates available as possible.

Have you had any luck getting them to match consolidators like skoosh.com?
