Hey all,

I was talking with a fellow journalist who's been flying in U coach a lot lately, and he swears the legroom in coach has been shrinking.

The question this begs is whether U has been adding seats to coach. Strictly a rumor but wondering if you've noticed anything like it.

Thanks much.

No additional seats, but the pitch in certain rows has always been as little as 30 inches.

As much as people complained about Metrojet, one redeeming quality was that the pitch was always between 33 and 35 inches.

I actually ended up in 5B on a 319 a couple of days ago and was surprised that it was roomier than I remembered/feared...

(For the record that was what I refer to as a self-inflicted downgrade -- I had a confirmed upgrade but switched flights at the last minute right into the middle of the Monday morning crunch. The middle seat was a voluntary switch with an older couple that were seated apart -- I offered, they didn't ask.)
