Virgin America Elevate - Virgin America at Chicago O'Hare

The Chicago Tribune is reporting today that the City of Chicago is poised to strike a deal with Delta Airlines to take control of Concourse L. This will allow Virgin America, Jet Blue and other airlines access to O'Hare.

Jetblue already services ORD as does Spirit (NK).

The thing is that if VX was able to deal directly with the city they might have been able to get a great deal that is far less than NK and B6 pay to sublease.

Right. B6 has already existed service ORD-JFK/BOS/LGB. I surely hope VX ix coming to ORD and it will expanded more new nonstop ORD-SFO/LAX/JFK/BOS/IAD/FLL. If VX will becomes new focus cities in ORD. They will able to expanding more specific new routes. If there some more tougher competitions against UA/AA. It won't happening for DL is no longer in entire concourse L.

Am I naive for still hoping VX will start flying SFO-ORD this summer? I heard April 2011 as a launch date a while back, but that seems too soon. Anyone with more insight on this developement?

Right now, the city of Chicago is getting closer to be finalization approvals and they will able startup service SFO/LAX-ORD sometimes this summer. If they have enough the gates space available in entire concourse L. Surely, lets do it. Can VX will have stepped it up? VX is waiting for a long time and while they are already in negotiations with city of Chicago for numerous the times.
