It looks like I am close to having send back my Swiss ticket in F to US Airways for credit back to my account. I am interested in F ideas abroad using points. I'll have total about 101k but can top up if necessary. Thanks

Obviously you know what you are doing, but there is no better award anywhere than SWISS First Class from the west coast to Europe.

(Could you just change the dates?)

On behalf of someone who has flown SWISS F, if you can reschedule at all you should, or even pay the $50 to change where you fly from, still worth it.

OK I thought that was the case and I will try to re-schedule. Thanks

Uuuuhh, I'm a little lost here. I believe SWISS has never been a Dividend Miles partner, and the now defunct SWISSAIR ceased to be a partner well before it ceased operations. I don't think you can do anything but redeposit for miles.

As for what do do with around 100K, I'm looking very much forward to a 2 week trip to Australia and New Zealand on Qantas this April. We'll be flying Business for 105K Dividend Miles each. I would have booked First for 125K each, but 1st seats seem hard to come by. Can't wait!

SWISS ceased being a partner mid 2002 (April?), but you had up to a year to complet your travel. I flew SWISS F on a US Airways award to Turkey just a few months ago.

I wish I had a chance to fly Swiss first class again. Last summer I flew Swiss and US, both first class, to Europe within a few weeks. I got the Swiss award for fewer miles than the US, and the US experience was MUCH less pleasant. Swiss was wonderful...

I did a Swiss F report from my trip at the end of last summer. Have a look and see if you still want to trade in your ticket. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif IMO, it's worth doing whatever it takes to be able to use this award, even more now that it's no longer available via Dividend Miles. It was the best use of my miles of any kind thus far! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Ditto.

Quite simply, Swissair First was the best experience I've ever had on a plane.
