Right now, through the US website, the cheapest PIT-PHL fare is $168, but it is only available for travel Friday through Monday. I'm trying to book a trip leaving on a Friday and coming back on a Wednesday. The flights I need are pricing out at $212.50 (half the cheap fare and half a more expensive fare).

It turns out that UA has all of the PIT-PHL US flights as codeshares, and they have the same $168 fare available on any flight on any day, so the exact same US flights price out at $186.50 through the UA website.

Actually, this isn't the first time I've seen cheaper fares on US metal through the codeshare. I guess the new rule is that you need to check with both airlines (or look through a 3rd-party website like Travelocity, which shows both).

Very probably true. The interesting twist will come when they announce (speculation) the upgrade policy for US elites on UA and UA elites on US.

THAT is when things will get wonky!

(I made up the word "wonky" btw.) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
