Admission in '04 is the goal.
Also, new "top tier" DM benefits with UA are to be announced today:

Hmmm... 2004 seems to be a slip from earlier public statements. Previously, they were hinting at mid-2003.
This might partially explain the interim Lufthansa code-share, though.

Here's the quote about new benefits...
<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2"> The two airlines plan to announce on Friday an expanded package of benefits for "elite tier" frequent flier members of both airlines, under their code-sharing agreement, she said. </font>
What on earth does that mean? Just US1's or 2's and 3's also?

Get ready to have your CP upgrade benefits "aligned" with the 1k benefits.
I smell a rat coming.

I think you're giving that newspaper too much credit for uncovering something "new" ...
I'd bet dollars to donuts that they're just referring to the added elite benefits already announced as starting tomorrow (March 1, 2003) of priority check-in, boarding, and seating based on elite status on the other airline.
