Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus - Tardy Gold Card?

Near the end of December 2010 I made ROP Gold status again after having to put up with Silver Card for previous 6 months. As of today, I still have seen no pack with the new Gold Card, which should be coming to my home in Beijing. I thought 3-4 week time lag from making status to receiving card was more normal...at least that's my prior recollection. Is anybody else experiencing a similar long time frame for delivery? Should I be calling Bangkok about now?

I realize that some allowance for Chinese New Year non-deliveries Feb 2-Feb 9 are to be expected on the Beijing end. And I do have the ROP-issued letter to use temporarily.

Your card should have arrived by now, but sometimes things take more time than they should. You've got the letter, and I presume the right status is showing online, so nothing to worry about as your status will appear in your reservations.

If the card hasn't issued by end Feb, then I think it would be worth a call to your local ROP office.

Thanks. Will put on to-do list if no card reasonably soon. There is the possibility that the card was sent but delivery screwed up on the China Post end. It's not a problem having no card intra-Asia and on TG, but could be a potential problem travelling outside the region on other *A partners and wanting lounge access, etc. Which may happen in March.

Consider asking them to use FedEx or DHL. When my *G card with UA was late by months, they offered to FedEx the membership kit.

Seems I posted slightly prematurely. ROP Gold Card came today--it had been sent from Hong Kong postmarked January 31, so probably got caught up in the backlog of local deliveries delayed due to Chinese New Year.

All I received besides the little brochure about benefits, were a couple of luggage tags--which I can add to my collection. No hotel, rental, or shopping coupons or anything, did they do away with those entirely?

I requalified for ROP Gold when a manul miles claim was processed on 1st Feb, the 5,000 Gold bonus miles posted on the 2nd Feb, and my new Gold card valid Thru 02/2013 arrived in the UK on the 18th Feb (postmarked from Hong Kong).

I think this is a reasonable time for delivery, so would advise anyone waiting much longer than this to contact ROP as other posters have suggested.
