Do I need a quad-band cell phone for Argentina and/or Chile? What frequency is used -- 850, 900, 1800, 1900?? (Search only brought me to the "shared" cellphone that is/was loaned out, and to the area codes necessary.) Thanks.

For GSM, 850/1900 is used in both countries.

For some reason GSM Arena has the wrong info. about 1800. If you need an updated list, check GSM Word

If you live in EU, get a Quad band, because Dual and Tri-band in EU are 900/1800 or 900/1800/1900 ;)
