Hi -

I am probably going to book TG486 from PER to BKK (on a Friday in April 2011). It stops in HKT. Timing is:
PERHKT 0915 1430
HKTBKK 1530 1655

Both sectors are listed as A330.

Questions:
1) Is this the same aircraft continuing?
2) Do pax for BKK need to de-plane in HKT?
3) Do pax for BKK clear immigration in BKK or HKT?

Hi, you deplane and go through passport control, then into a transit area, and the same plane takes you onto Bangkok.

yep and it is a pain. No fasttrack immigration and even more miserable immigration officers, no escalators, so if you have hand baggage you have to lug it downstairs and then back up the same stairs after queing for ages for passport control.

In conclusion, a pain at both HKT and BKK airports.

I always try and take a direct flight but last time no choice.

bkkman - if you thought PERBKK via HKT was a pain, from 16APR the BKKPER 485 overnight will op via HKT on days 1345 with a 2 hour layover there !!!!

Good for HKTPER pax though as they don't have to travel via BKK anymore.

Agree, so best thing to do for both HKT and BKK is take the direct flight if pos.
