Can anyone tell me the best location for seating at a Giants game? We are planning a trip to San Francisco in July and would like to purchase 2 tickets for a home game. I have been looking at the website but am confused as to trying to pick a location to purchase our tickets. Any help would be appreciated. We just want to be able to enjoy the game and have a decent view. Thanks!

Do you like to be close to the action?(lower box) DO you like to be pampered with better food than typical ballpark fare?(club) Do you like to be with a lot of screaming fans?(bleachers or reserved bleachers) DO you care how high up you are (Upper reserved)

You can see what the view is from selected seats by going to

I've always felt that seats behind first base give the best overall perspective of the game. You have a good view of home plate, can see a lot of action at the place (first base) where most of the put-outs take place, you have a good angle on the mound, and can follow fly balls.

When I lived in the Bay Area in the 80s-90s I had a share of season tickets at Candlestick Park - section 11 about seven rows back . I really enjoyed seeing the game from there - I did sit in many other sections over the years and always felt that the FB angle was the best.

Squeakr,
The "fluffs" like fancy food are not important. I don't think I want to be all the way out in the bleachers, but somewhere closer to the action. In looking online, there don't seem to be many choices for tickets up closer. Is there a better site other than the "home" site to purchase tickets. We are looking at the games on July 22nd or 23rd.

My personal experience is the best place to buy tickets is Stub Hub.

Also, to see the game well, I would sit somewhere between first base and third base, but not any farther out. The top level is called "View Reserved", but in my opinion, if you are more than 1/4 of the way up on that level, you are pretty high and don't see any "details". And finally, I don't like anything so close to field level that you don't have a good perspective of the whole field.

Thanks, will try to find something in that area on Stub hub.

You realize stubhub is a reseller right? SO you are paying a premium over the ticket price?

I see tons of tickets in lower box., view box, view reserved....

Plus the reserved bleachers are not as far away sight wise as upper deck view reserved.....

plus Friday MAY be easier than Sat as Saturday is a giveaway night....some kind of prize...

Stubhub is a place for individuals to sell their tickets. So you could theoretically get your tickets cheaper than face value (though unlikely, since Stubhub takes a commission). In any event, Stubhub often has better seats available than SFGiants.com, as season ticket holders are reselling seats that you can't get first-hand.

I've always sat in the bleachers when I attended Giants games then last time I bought Club level seats. Now I won't sit anywhere else.

Does club level come with any perks?

Biggest benefits IMO are that the lines for food and restrooms are much shorter. Also, you can have a waiter bring you food to your seat, like in the premium field box section. You also get a good view of the game from a restaurant in the concourse area. It's basically a more upscale way to watch the game.

Some people prefer the view from Club Level. I prefer the view from the lower level more.

I was just making the point that they are a reseller and not like a ticketmaster...

It's not as good a vantage point and the food is even more expensive. (But to be honest i often bring my own food to games and just buy drinks)

I am going to recommend once again that the OP use thew sfgiants site to see what the vantage point will be from potential seats. EVERYONE Is different in terms of what they like.

I was just making the point that they are a reseller and not like a ticketmaster...I think it's an important point to make - it is definitely a third-party situation.

However, there is one very big difference between stubhub and other resellers: it is sanctioned by the Giants to be the officially-designated place for season-ticket holders to sell tickets they will not be using:

http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/ticketing/stubhub.jsp?c_id=sf

This arrangement means that "general" fans get access to prime seat locations that are otherwise not available. Second, stubhub has protection policies in place that make it a much safer place to buy than such risky marketplaces like eBay and (worst of all) craigslist, otherwise known as the ticket counterfeiter's best friend

There are two issues:

1) Where to buy tix

Try the Giants web page:
http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/ticketing/index.jsp?c_id=sf

Ticket prices are demand based..the same seat will be more expensive during the more popular games

2) Where to sit

Beats me. I cant make recommendations for AT&T but generally, if you are going for the atmosphere, the bleachers are fine. If you want to observe strategy, count pitches, observe the mix, actually see the offspeed stuff drop when it comes across the plate etc. you will need to be closer in.

So which game will you be attending and where will you be sitting?

We chose section 203 in the Club Level Outfield. We get the benefits of the Club Level (since this will be our only chance to enjoy) and are close enought to the water to watch what is going on out there.

The game is a Wed afternoon game against the LA Dodgers.

Thanks for all the help. We are very excited. Living in Jacksonville, Florida we don't get to see many MLB games. We would have to travel to south Florida or up to Atlanta.
