I have a choice of using either CO or UA from GRU to the States. Having never flown on either airline I was wondering if anyone can offer advice on which one has the best Biz Class product?

CO uses the 767-200 to IAH and EWR while UA use the 777 to IAD and ORD. You may catch the new configuration on UA with the lie flat seating as they get more aircraft converted. I was on the new configuration last week GRU-IAD. When I have been in C on UA on this route, the soft product has been average to very good IMHO. HIDDY Feb 5, 11, 6:03 pm Thanks qfrodo. I must go and do a search for some pictures of the UA seat old and new. Whether that's a good thing or not I'm not sure. :D To be honest from what I've seen during my research the standard of the biz class seat on all the N American airlines is pretty poor apart from AC who we are planning on using to fly back to EZE on. The chances of getting the new hard product on the UA 777 is not very good according to the experts. SoCal Feb 8, 11, 6:34 am Thanks...no Delta isn't an option. CO's 767s are two-class aircraft. "Business First" is the highest class. We've taken it once before, to IAH, and are taking it again next week. Nice aircraft. 2-1-2 seating, though the seats are not competely lie-flat. Service was good. President's Club at IAH is nice (have not used the one at EWR). The UA 777s to IAD and ORD are three-class aircraft, so Business Class is the middle class. It appears gfrodo got lie-flat seats in UA's biz class, which sounds like a good deal (I thought they'd have those only in First Class). Seatguru.com shows 2-3-2 seating in bis class for 777s, though it sounds from other posters like UA is using a new configuration now. As a CO passenger you can use United's Red Carpet Club at GRU, though not the showers there. |
