I am not sure if it is common knowledge on this forum but I was told by someone in Thai's public relations section this week that at least one 747 will be refurbished in Economy class before the end of the year to include seat back monitors and be used for the LHR route.
Does anyone have confirmation of this?

Sorry, not able to confirm at all, but with the promise of Airbus A380's to high volume European routes in 2012, I'm wondering if this has some part of that plan.
If an early A380 replaced one of the twice daily LHR flights, would they offer an upgraded 747 on the other ? Or would it reduce to single daily flight on some days / seasons ?
Any comments ?
Cheers, Graham
Thai has previously published that five 747s will be refurbished during 2011. So I think it quite likely that these planes will be assigned to at least one of the two LHR flights.
If the introduction of the 380 means dropping the other LR flight on some days, I would recommend filling the void with a LHR-HKT non stop flight, say on a 330.
