I would fly LHR-LAX-LHR with NZ, and LHR <-> Scandinavia with SK. Any cabin class.

Yes, Air New Zealand. They are in my opinion superior in both business, premier economy, and economy class.

Air new zealand really? I tought airlines were flying from their main hub.:p

Air New Zealand flies LHR-LAX-AKL (and LHR-HKG-AKL) daily.

Swiss is fine, it is one of my favorite European carriers, and it would maybe be my second choice. But NZ are just better when it comes to food, wine, entertainment, seats etc.

One more vote for NZ: OSL-LHR on SK and then LHR-LAX on NZ.

Irespective of class NZ beats any other option out there (unless you are flying First - but NZ C is pretty d*** close to many F experiences out there).
