Code-Share Wave Three
Sunday, Jan. 26, will be the first day that “wave three” US Airways/United code-share flights will be available for sale for US* codes on United to and from their Dulles hub, and for UA* codes on US Airways flights out of US Airways’ Philadelphia hub.
The service will operate beginning Feb. 13. Similar code-share flights out of US Airways’ Pittsburgh hub and United’s Denver hub went on sale last week, and those first flights will launch on Tuesday Jan 28. A ceremony, sponsored by the Allegheny County Airport Authority, will take place that day at the Pittsburgh International Airport to mark the continued code-share expansion.
Tickets for “wave two” Pittsburgh flying went on sale last week. The code share program began earlier this month with flights operating from US Airways' Charlotte hub, and United's Chicago hub. Through code-sharing, both the “US” and “UA” designators appear on flights. More than 3,000 code-share flights are being planned in the first half of this year.
