US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Bizarre flights early in the AM

The other morning I couldn't sleep and decided to check flights in March. For one of my "normal" flights down to Florida, I was told that to return I could take a double connect back and forth, and that one of the trips between PHL and CLT (I think) would be on a 767. I thought "how cool, they must be moving the aircraft and instead of having it empty they must go ahead and throw passengers on it." But it's not there any more. Occasionally at this time I was also getting a "we don't fly between these two cities" every now and then (which is ridiculous.) Someone somewhere must have been doing some routine maintenance. Has anyone else seen this?

I've seen 767s running PHL-CLT - I think it happens once or twice a day.

There is a 767 PIT-PHL that used to happen almost daily. Repositioning the aircraft for an international jaunt from PHL, I'm sure.

I was on this flight this past weekend: 767 service on US 1677 leaving PHL 7:45am flying PHL-CLT-SJU, and US 791 leaving SJU 4:15pm flying SJU-CLT-PHL. I wouldn't be surprised if these flights were downgraded around April to shift the 767s to Europe as Europe becomes busier and the Caribbean less so.

My dad was on 1677 on Sat, and 791 on Sun (just the PHL-CLT-PHL portions). They are definitely 767's full of leisure travellers. It allows them to advertise X flights from PHL and Y from CLT, and use only 1 plane http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
