Has anyone noticed that you can request the upgrade when booking online and at the 7 day window the upgrade will process but will not give you a seat assignment.
You still have to call if you want a seat assignment before arriving at the airport.
Speaking with the ChmPref desk this morning they said they were unaware of that.
Am I doing something wrong?

I had a similar experience online.
Of course, my experience with having the CP desk queue the upgrade usually resulted in being placed into the rearmost seat in the F cabin every time.
After a fashion, I just got in the habit of calling in about 6 days out and changing that, as well. Hate those rear bulkhead seats http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif.

That is my experience as well. Why is it 3, 4 or 6 automatically? They fill the back first and move forward?
Of course I do not have to worry about that on my Dash 8 and RJ flights.
BTW, I was told at the Club that for CPs they have to create an electronic upgrade for you when you are upgrading because we have no bank and I think the same process is true for a companion.
