Storm1n Jan 19, 03, 10:55 am This thread talks about it: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum51/HTML/004053.html rawbert Jan 19, 03, 11:34 am Thanks. I already read that thread and found no one reporting back on how the system is working. rawbert <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by Storm1n: This thread talks about it: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum51/HTML/004053.html</font> US1@ORF Jan 19, 03, 11:37 am <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by rawbert: Has anyone used Web Check-In yet? I like it and find it very useful so I can arrive to the airport a bit later than if I had to check in. ------------------ US-CP; UA PE; AA Plat; Hilton Gold VIP; Six Continents Gold cuzIcan Jan 19, 03, 12:38 pm I used it last week and had no problems. I did get a few weird looks from security, but nothing that stopped me from getting through. The gate agents did have to ask a manager if "These are new" and once he verified them, I was on the plane with no problem. cuzIcan Jan 19, 03, 12:39 pm Forgot to mention, another nice feature of this is that you can change your seat assignment before you get to the airport. irabk Jan 19, 03, 1:54 pm I will be trying it out for tomorrow's trip. ARLVACP Jan 19, 03, 2:22 pm Was all set to give it a go, then realized that I'd get 100 miles if I used the kiosk check in at DCA and SEA (50 miles each way). I know that's a small mileage amount, but why do web check in if kiosks are available and you get the points?? If US wants to encourage use of the web check in, they should award mileage -- I think NWA gives web check in users 2,000 miles the first time they check in online. phillyguy Jan 19, 03, 3:55 pm I have used it - works good - only 2 things 1. Does not print your Dividend miles status or # on the boarding pass -make sure you have your card with you for the preferred lines and boarding - if you are not first class 2. It is a one part only pass so when you give it up at the door you don't have anything with you on the plane if there is a question or those rare instances where U books the same seat twice Heinrich Jan 19, 03, 4:48 pm when your print box comes up make 2 copies :-] BillMorrow Jan 20, 03, 11:53 pm Does anyone have any experience with the upgrade queues when using web check-in? Are you automatically moved to the 'day of travel' queue or do you still need to ask once you reach the airport? I'm very curious about this and thought it might be of interest to others here also. This is how you can go from being #1 to #2 without anyone doing anything evil -- it just means that someone who checked in earlier asked to be placed on the queue (maybe the original check-in agent messed up or maybe the target flight wasn't open when they checked in on the west coast...) I'd use the web check-in as early as possible and then double check the UG queue status at the airport. |
