Has this ever happened to you?

I was checking my FPC account online early last week and noted 2 reservations (for the same night) that I did not make showing up. The rooms are are both suites with great views on the gold floor and the most interesting part was the cost: $0. At least whoever made these reservations has good taste!!

I have stayed at this hotel before but did not make these 2 reservations that are coming up in a few months. I called the hotel directly to inquire and received an email response after they looked into it. Apparently there are 2 "Mr. epost77" in the FPC data base and since these reservations were made by someone who is traveling and paying for these rooms for the other "Mr. epost77" they were put under my account by mistake. I was under the impression this would get resolved by in house reservations.

It has now been a week and the reservations are still showing up...do you think they will ever be removed? Should I book a flight to this city and show up expecting to be given my "confirmed reservation for $0"? Mrs. epost77 would certainly enjoy a get away weekend especailly with a free room:D

Should I call back to inquire further? My concern is that room incidentals will be bill to my credit card:eek:

I have seen sometimes when booking a suite they make two reservations in the system. Some hotels have extra rooms that "lock-off" that they add when they turn a room into a suite. It could be an extra bedroom etc. In that case the extra room shows up as 0$.

Yes, I have seen this before when booking a suite u/g at some of the older hotels that just have small rooms. This property is new and I have stayed in one of their suites. I can reassure you that there is no need for more room...1200 sqf is huge:D

Although that reminds me there was an "outside" door to my suite with my door on one side and another door leading to another room on the other side of the hall. I suspect this was meant to convert into a suite with adjoining entertaining space\extra bedroom.

Either way I didn't make any of these reservations. I'm currently not planning to be in that city...although I could arrange to change that if I was going to be comp'd a room for 2 night at this hotel:cool:

Sounds like a plan to go and enjoy.. however, even though the system is showing $0, you don't know what the actual charge is going to be.. I made a reservation last year at the Fairmont Orchid, and my entire stay showed up $0 "pseudo rate".. Called them up, and they said that the internal way of doing showed up technical error on the website.. I asked, so my stay is free?, and they said no, in order to process the request, you will still be charged the NFAF rate quoted.

Would have been nice to have 15 nights $0 pseudo rate!
