DEER FATALLY INJURED? DEER SERIOUSLY INJURED? DEER PARTS UNIDENTIFIABLE?

Probably what it'll take to start seeing food again on domestic flights!

Interesting. While PIT is/has and warns you of

"DEER & BIRDS ON & INVOF ARPT."

CLT only has

"BE ALERT FOR FLOCKS OF MIGRATORY BIRDS ON & INVOF ARPT."

I can see the deer on the PIT property from my office window. Never noticed any at CLT.

I was taking the long way home from PHX - on the PHL-CLT leg - and we had to circle CLT for a hour because of Bambi. Sadly, I can report that Bambi is in Deer Heaven. After seven hours in a plane, I was having a hard time caring.

What does PHL have? "Be alert for rats pigeons and airbus certified jetway drivers"

"Bambi" also caused mega-delays for departing flights too, and also single runway operation out of CLT for several hours.

I guess Thumper was nowhere to be found to keep Bambi out of trouble.

Dont forget the certified airbus backer-uppers who took out two 330s last week.

Speaking of which, I guess that job is harder than it sounds - not like you can look at side or rear-view mirror. Its the guy waving you back who messed up.

An hour sounds about right to get a Sky Chefs truck out there to pick up Bambi.

>"An hour sounds about right to get a Sky Chefs truck out there to pick up Bambi."

On Saturday the Sky Chefs truck ran into the back of 'my plane' to RSW and took out a big chunk of the tail. Had to get a new plane.

Jane (Thankfully, the basket of snacks was unhurt.)

And don't forget, in Philly the geniuses on the ramp knocked 2 A330's together, putting one out of service for a while. Seems incompetence is not limited to the inside of the terminal in that place.

38 pax on a Dash 8. With load factors like that the only reason they aren't making money has got to be stupidity.

Most of the Express flights I have been on are not busy, but they are also going to feed points. I suspect the ones going to former Mainline stations are busy, but a lot of these must have allocated fares. For instance, when I fly out of White Plains to any destination, the fare is about the same as if the trip started from LGA or even PHL. They must give some slice of the total fare collected to the Express carrier. I doubt it has anything to do with actual costs. Another thing I notice is that the Express flights largely depend on Mainline feed. With reduced numbers of flights, many Express customers can't get the big jet to the hub to make the connect because all the cheap seats are gone. It's like the stopper in a bottle.

Let's not forget that the IAM would have you believe that it's a good thing to have a "licensed mechanic" doing receipt and dispatch of planes.

Perhaps a "licensed driver" would be better....

"BIRDS & DEER ON & INVOF ARPT"

For PHL. And the unsaid

"PREY IT DOES NOT RAIN OR WE'LL GRND HLD U ALL DAY"
