Here's a link to a discussion on the American Express forum when National Airlines went belly up.

Apparently, American Express said that it would not give refunds to those who purchased tickets on Ch.11 National Airlines if they went to Ch.7.
Furthermore, the Aviation Consumer Action Project (ACAP) issued a warning back when US Airways went Ch.11 that American Express may not refund US Airways purchases if they go Ch.7 Here's the link http://www.acap1971.org/director/director_message_display.cfm?DMID=1
I guess the good news is that Bank of America specifically said that they would honor refunds.
Let's hope for the best, but prepare for the worse.
