US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - How soon for United FF Travel?

Friends, Getting married in March and am trying to use my USAirways Frequent Flyer miles to buy FIrst Class tickets to Hawaii on United but have not had much success with USAirways Chairman's Desk. Does anyone out there knows how soon can we start using USAirways miles towards United Frequent Flyer tickets? Please help as we need to make reservations soon! Thanks in advance for your responses.

When the alliance was approved, they implied cross-redemption wouldnt start until 'first quarter of 2003'. But I would guess that finding ways to give away more free tickets is the last thing on each respective company's mind at this point. ie IF it comes in Q1 03, it will be near the end.
