Does anyone else find it ridiculous that VX, for all its tech-forward and customer-friendly image, does not have a mobile version of VirginAmerica.com? The full site was down for maintenance last night and I had hoped that there would be some kind of substantive upgrade in the works, such as the addition of a mobile site. Alas, that was not the case.
This article (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/03/02/virgin_america_html_flash/) and this article (http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/article/190700/virgin_america_ditches_flash_on_its_site.html) from nearly a year ago hinted that mobile boarding passes and other mobile capabilities were in the works. So far, crickets. Yes, one can use the full site. But it's slow and clunky on my BlackBerry and I would not attempt to do more than check flight status with it. (I can't even get the flight detail page to load. It stays stuck in the Loading pop-up message.)
Come on, VX, get with the times. Even the IT nightmare that is UA has you bested in this department. :td:
