Sumbled across a public TV channel in Alabama last night, and they were interviewing David Bronner (Is that his name?) from the Alabama Retirement Fund.
He was insisting that it was a good investment in USAir, and that he was looking at a time frame of six to seven years out. According to him, US did it right in lining up their cost reductions prior to the ATSB loan application, whereas UA had it set up so that it was only a one-year reduction and bingo! back to business as usual by 2004. ESOP influence, I would guess.
I tuned in in the middle, and he was being asked questions about all aspects of the retirement fund, so I didn't get a ton of information, but the overall impression I came away with was that he was much more positive about the long term future of US.
I may even keep my miles, now.
Anybody from Alabama watch that and have more info?
