Religious Travelers - Kosher food in San Francisco SFO
I will be in San Francisco next month and will need somewhere good to take a client.
I have found Sabra Grill and also The Kitchen Table restaurant, although I am not sure if the latter is still kosher.
Does anyone have any experience of kosher eating in this area?
Also, we have a client who wants to eat in a Michelin starred restaurant, so I will need to have food sent to that restaurant. Any ideas how to do this?
Thanks in advance

Did you check Shamash (http://www.shamash.org/kosher/search.php?Comm=two&Area=San+Francisco-San+Jose+CA+Metro+area)? It lists additional options.
There are also a few listings in the Jewish Federation Resource Guide (http://sfjcf.org/resources/guide/subchapter.asp?ZipRegions=San+Francisco&Chapter=Food+%26+Nosherei&SubChapter=Restaurants).
Yes, I have had a look at Shamash, I was just looking for some personal recommendations for a business meal, doesn't look like Sabra Grill will make the mark though.
That second link to the Jewish Federation Resource Guide is not appropriate - the second restaurant on that list sells ham.
ive eaten by Sabra and its in a good location (just by the Pagoda in China Town) but isnt a place Id take a client if I was looking to impress them
Ive heard many good things about TKT but never was there, I think its in Palo Alto rather then SF City itself
Your best bet would be to fly your clients to LA where there are many choices or to Oxnard and eat by the Herzog Winnery. if thats out of the pic I think TKT might be your best bet

Tierra Sur (http://www.tierrasuratherzog.com/) at the Herzog Wine Cellars is a terrific recommendation.

The Kitchen Table in Palo Alto is most definitely Kosher and a fantastic restaurant. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone

if you have been there what is the atmosphere like? can a person bring top clients there? I LOVE The Fish Grill in LA great food, but its Not a place to bring clients especially if I wanted to have a working biz meal
Some people swear by Jeffs in Pico (I dont) but again its not a place to bring clients even if a person thinks its great food and the best around

The only kosher place in the Los Angeles area, other than Tierra Sur in Oxnard, that is suitable to bring clients is Pat's (http://www.patskosher.com/).

there are a few others and some very good and nice Milhig places as well. But its moot a sI dont think the OP is interested in spending what they will have to to get everyone down to LA or Oxnard
Worse comes to worse have Pats send the food up to SF and rent a meeting room at a nice Hotel and have them set it up for a meal. The OP will have to use plastic but the others can use the Hotels utensils and plates. Im sure Pats can ship it so all the Hotel has to do is reheat it in an oven like is done on a plane.
I know many people who do this when in London and purchase the meals from Hermolis and it comes with directions for the kitchen staff to follow and they deliever each day. Or the OP only has to order for themselves and let their clients if they arent Jewish eat whatever from the Hotels menu

There is also that Persian/Chinese restaurant.

That is definitely not the case. There are other options besides Pat's and the Winery for a sit-down restaurant in LA that is suitable to take clients:
Shiloh's (Meat)
26 by Shiloh's (Dairy)
La Seine (Meat)
La Gondola (Meat)
All these places have sit-down service in a casual/casual-neat setting.
I don't consider casual settings suitable for important business clients. If they don't keep kosher, they will compare the food, ambience and service to non-kosher places.
In my personal experience, and I do not observe kashrut, Pat's and Tierra Sur offer overall experiences comparable to some of the better restaurants in town and will meet the clients' expectations.

I do not keep kosher but have dietary restrictions.
If you want a Michelin star call Gary Danko.
They are wonderful, accommodating and will try to work with you.
They have one Michelin star and even though the service is not impeccable (used to be better) the food is great and definitely deserves one star.
They have a room for more than 6 - not sure how many people you want to invite.

The Kitchen Table is pretty good, and definitely suitable. Just FYI, it's in Mountain View.
