I had a special and memorable flight today. Upon arrival at NRT checked in. Told I was the only passenger in F today. After checking in escorted to "crew" line at NRT. Screening and immigration was a breeze. The plane was leaving out of 31 but opted first to try the ANA Suite Lounge so broke hard left after immigration. The Lounge was ok but was quickly filling so headed towards the UA First Lounge. Not bad. At first was the only person and it filled to six before I left. The place has been refreshed.
Walk over to my gate and waited for boarding. Nothing special. Upon entering the F cabin it kinda had a weird layout as it was open to C until the curtains were pulled. The galley on the side was pretty unique. I thought the seats were ok and they reminded me of QF and BA F product I had tried in the past.
Arriving at my seat opted to switch to 2A. I had not looked at any posts to see anything about the service and/or amenity so the Rimowa kit was just plain cool. My wife will love it. The FAs were so courteous and frankly put on the full service for just me. The center set-up, trolley and making up the lav. Really nice. The service was exceptional. Along with the amenity kit which used to be bland they have raised their game. Before landing I was offered ice cream and a sandwich.
When the door opened there was a gentleman holding a sign board. I was immediately taken to a waiting private van and taken to immigration. Escorted to diplomatic lane. It was a breeze. I know the hard product has something to be desired given what is out there. The soft aspect they are very very good at. A memorable flight. And I am spoiled.

Recently had the same experience on PVG to NRT (old 747) Awesome service. I almost had to be carried off in BKK. Same a bit back on AI from FRA to EWR, and KE NRT to LAX.. Nothing beats an F Cabin if the crew has the right personality.. Not even a private jet I would say (Unless said jet had scantly clad EK and SQ FAs...)

I will be flying out in F. Intend to try all the services and looking to change my Feb 11 flight into TG F versus NH which only has C.

I mentioned my recent PEK-BKK solo F experience in a different thread. I especially enjoyed it as it was a night flight home, no need to think about work or being presentable. One favorite moment was when I asked for a couple of menu alterations to be set aside and the FA said, "Everything here is yours, Mr. Afterall."
Prior to that, ex-BKK I made the most of the F Lounge, arriving early, champagne breakfast and the hour massage. When TG does it well, it is well done indeed.
I've been one of two in F on SQ a few times, excellent service, of course, but it was a 773ER and even with the comfy new chairs no comparing to the space space on the 747. TG certainly takes the prize on the ground service.

This airline aka TG is a over-looked star in the alliance. I left my hotel a little less than 3 hours before my business class flight. I am now in the C Lounge having just had a wonderful foot massage in the Royal Orchid Spa. And I still have one hour before my flight departs. I now look forward to arriving a little early to try and get a full body massage as flying back to NRT in F.
My experience was the same. Told I could have anything at anytime on the menu. The FAs were also very generous. I think point for point TG can easily give SQ a run. I am on record as not over the top on SQ F product. I like CX also lots but nothing can compare to a nice legit massage before getting on a flight to take a nap. At that point who cares about food. Just the amenity kit please!

Perhaps you should forego UA GS and just credit to TG. :D:p Joking of course. TG ground service is wonderful... in the air can be hit and miss. When it's on however, TG can be a topnotch airline.

I generally find it to be 'on'... I have become quite a fan of TG over the years... ^

What a treat. I arrived early enough to receive a one hour oil massage in the Royal Orchid Spa. The spa room was like nothing I have ever seen. The layout was perfect. In terms of size I have seen bigger with the spa villas at the Hyatt in Bali but to think something like this exists in a airport. Yes. In terms of soft product TG has it down pat. They execute also.
Sounds like my equipment changed for this evening to older style seating. I was looking forward to a comfortable rest but that may not be. Regards from the Lounge.

This F Lounge is pretty amazing also. It seems like the staff to passenger ratio is 1 to 1. I ordered ice cream and it came in a chilled plate with a cherry. No paper cup ice cream hear.

I was disappointed the flight went on delay and the Lounge staff was not as up to date as flightstats. Learned at the gate planes can only arrive at NRT after 6 AM.
The plane changed so it was very old seating. The FAs were great and the F amenity kits continues to be on this flight the dark blue Rimowa. The C amenity kit was also interesting. ;)
I liked TG lots and they in terms of soft product atop the list. I continue to love CX F.

Yeah, that's one of the biggest complaints about TG.
You check in advance to see if the aircraft is one that gives you a nice seat, then at the last minute it changes to another kind.
Oh well mai pen rai...

About two years ago I was the only one in F from MUC - HKG on LH.
I was spoiled rotten hee, hee!
I was disappointed the flight went on delay and the Lounge staff was not as up to date as flightstats.
My only complaint about the F Lounge at BKK is that the staff, when asked about boarding times or delays, will always answer whatever they think the passenger wants to hear rather than the truth. I have had "boarding in 10 minutes" four times over the space of an hour.
