Los Angeles - Anyone try shuttle2LAX.com yet ?
I see Big billboards off the 405 freeway advertising them,
the website looks nice,
But has anyone used them ?
not worth a great deal at $20 if you miss your flight ?
And do they just book you on Supper shuttle / Prime time ?
I am only a $25 ride away from the airport anyway, but this might be a smart idea if I need to get back to LAX area from farther away,
And how soon do you have to book ? hours, days ????
Thanks

I haven't used them yet but I checked out their website at www.shuttle2LAX.com and found some good info on them. It appears that they resell empty seats from other shuttle companies. It doesn't appear that they actually have any shuttles themselves. They have a live chat, but the operator will not tell you what companies they work with. It looks like they work with companies like Super Shuttle and Prime Time Shuttle. They told me that once I book a reservation (which you have to do online) I will get an e-mail saying what carrier my reservation has been booked with. At the price they are offering I can get a ride for almost half of what I have to pay now, and I thought what I pay now was a good deal. I also want to try them, they seem ligit. If you do book a ride with them let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Steven
I wonder how many suitcases you can bring , it might be something to ask
I travel with way to much stuff :)

Two suitcases per pax. See the T&C for dimensions.
I don't understand its business model. I have never taken airport shuttles, so I have no idea how much they normally run. Based on its service area map, OC is included for $20. What if one of its contracted carriers normally charge $40 for the ride, how does it make money? Since gas is not cheap around here, why would someone "go so far" just to fill its empty seats?
LAX
my problem is that even if you have paid shuttle2LAX.com does the Super Shuttle / Prime Time driver have to pick you over a customer he gets more money from ?
I have had to wait 15-20 minutes or longer on average for either Shuttle / Prime Time to show up at LAX, anymore I do not pick one over the other , just who shows up first.
So I would hate to sit another 20-30 minutes waiting for the next shuttle if the first one desides to do another loop of the airport for a full paying passanger,
And they are independent drivers so I guess they can do what they want,
I quess we will see....

Booked and took a ride 2 weeks ago to LAX. Ended up with Prime Time Shuttle. The van actually showed up early and was empty (I was the first person to be picked up, around 7:15am). We only made another stop to pick up a pax at Redondo Beach.

I'm flying back to LAX end of this month. Will see how it goes from LAX.

Did the driver know you paid $20 or was it just a printed voucher ?
thanks for the info

I think the driver only has my name, location, pickup time and flight info (airline, terminal and etc.). Well.... at least there was never a discussion about the fares I or the other pax paid for our ride.
We tried Shuttle2LAX, and it was just fine. We were with Prime Time Shuttle too. I don't think the driver knew what we paid because our service was good. I think the business model is based on the fact that a full van is always better and more profitable than a half empty van. Anyway, the service was great. We were picked up on time, not to many other pickups, driver was friendly and we got to the airport in plenty of time.
