View Full Version : When do I get my silver package?

I hit silver on 10/26. I've never had any sort of preferred membership before so I was just wondering when will I get my card? Will I get anything else? I found 4 NAU's in the mail today. Since I only have 34K on the year, I didn't think I was eligible. Did they just give me the NAU's a 1000 miles early? If I understand correctly I should get 4 NAU's after 35K status miles and another 6 at 45K status miles.

I just called about gold status reached the end of October. It takes about 1-2 weeks to process (?confirm and get ready to send out the package) - then expect the welcome packet about 5 weeks later. That is what I was told. As an aside - I was told that as of now they still think paper upgrades will be in the packets until things are sorted out, and these will need to be handed back but for 2 e upgrades each (or 3 or 4 depending on how you do it per the posted rules) This wasn't written anywhere and it sounds like the e upgrade program is so new that everyone doesn't know all the rules yet.

I turned gold in early October and it took about 3 weeks to get my packet.

No, you get threshold upgrades. Once you have achieved elite status, you get upgrades every 10,000 miles that you fly. US Airways will not be sending paper upgrades after December 5, so you will have a bank where the upgrades are stored. I'm not sure about Silver, but Gold Preferreds get 16 e-upgrades for the first 10,000 miles, and 20 for the second 10,000 miles, the cycle repeats itself every 10,000 miles.

Where'd you get that information from ... I haven't seen it anywhere else yet ...

This info hasn't been posted officially on the US Airways web site yet, but check out catwood's first post on the E-Upgrade thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum51/HTML/003754.html

If the info is correct, the earning rate seems to be 8/12 for 10,000/20,000 miles - Silvers; and 16/20 for 10,000/20,000 miles - Golds. Of course, the big question is how CP upgrades will work next year.

Yes, that is correct. Actually, it hasn't been posted on the website until e-upgrades are ready to go, December 5. Incidentally, there will be no systemwide upgrades anymore, they are being replaced by "transatlantic" upgrades.

What are your concerns about CHP upgrades?

Can they be used domesticly?

Why don't I like the sound of that..... if they said International I would feel much better (i.e. these sound un useable on UA...)

My concern is everyone but CP's will be able to get the 4:1 conversion rate on NAU's except CP's. I have 60 I would love to convert into e-upgrades at the 4:1 ratio and then convert to miles.

The other guys are afraid the CP's will lose their unlimited upgrades. Since I always had extra NAU's, I am not concerned. I also don't think it's gonna happen.

My concerns, although I'm only a lowly US2 and didn't get out more enough this year to make US1, are the same ones gardener described. I guess I was more curious than anything else. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I was just told it takes about 6 to 8 weeks to get your package when you reach a milestone level.
