Anyone else received the call today re: using the United RCC club now?
US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Received recorded call from US ClubView Full Version : Received recorded call from US Club zrs70 Nov 12, 02, 4:35 pm Anyone else received the call today re: using the United RCC club now? I really don't need spam filling my voice mail in addition to my fax machine, e-mail inbox, snail mailbox, etc. m60 Nov 12, 02, 8:08 pm It is spam and came on my cel phone during a meeting. Very, very annoying and inconsiderate. OilersFL Nov 12, 02, 8:40 pm Don't give 'em your cell number... And don't get annoyed when you get the call. And Turn off your cell when in a meeting. What the Hell is wrong with you snots?? BillMorrow Nov 12, 02, 9:31 pm My wife received the call at work also and was definitely not amused. Making marketing calls to someone's work phone is unacceptable. Calls regarding schedule changes are always appreciated, but marketing stuff should be left to email or snail mail. I think the Mrs will reinforcing this idea to US tomorrow. rtpflyer Nov 12, 02, 9:47 pm I got it too, and was NOT AMUSED. woody1173 Nov 12, 02, 11:29 pm I got it also. I did not pay too close attention, but it seemed to imply that I was a club member (maybe it "thanked" me? - can't recall). I am not a member, but if the system calls me and thanks me for being a member, does that convey membership status upon me?!? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif CLTFlyer Nov 13, 02, 7:29 am Got the call too - on the home phone while I was out of work, so it didn't annoy me. Of course, I can't complain about knowing about the reciprocal arrangement now, since I've been told by e-mail, phone, signs in the club and all else. Also tells you that they could let us know of major changes in DivMiles easily, instead of trying to slip it by us, but US wouldn't do that now would they? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif TomBascom Nov 13, 02, 10:15 am Originally posted by zrs70: Anyone else received the call today re: using the United RCC club now? Is that what that was? (The reception was very poor.) About all I could make of it was hat it was US Airways calling... I hoped they weren't telling me that my flight was canceled because I had just settled in to 2F and they were closing the door... Was there any substance to the call beyond what we already know? ClueByFour Nov 13, 02, 10:21 am I wonder how much money a company in Chapter 11 blew thru in postage, long distance, and whatever to notify it's members of this change thinks they are going to reap in return? *sigh* ------------------ Saving the world, one clue at a time. ARLVACP Nov 13, 02, 11:14 am Got the recorded call on my home machine -- call me cynical (not Shirley) -- but my guess is that the call was meant serve as a reminder that you can only use the RC Club if flying on United... Thief Of Hearts Nov 13, 02, 11:26 am I got the call and the customer satisfaction piece came in the mail. I think these are the beginnings of US's marketing strategy going forward. Think about some basics of marketing. Maximize your strengths/minimize your weaknesses. US has better CS than most of the others based on my experience. FT bears that out! That's what they have to sell. That and the code share with UA. Notice that's what they led with in their pitch to the core customer. As for them calling you at work/home/cell! just a gentle reminder in question form. Who gave them the phone number they called?? was it captured by the great Karnak or did YOU give them the number?? OH!! OK Thought so! I was frankly concerned that they could afford this type of thing. But somehow I think Mr. Siegel still has his bar mitzvah money! So I probably shouldn't worry. producer Nov 13, 02, 11:40 am What really bugs me is that they can use the phone for this piffle, but leave us to scrounge around for news on major changes. I don't understand how communication opportunities can be so misused. Shame. |
