Stayed for two nights at the David Intercontinental as a platinum and one night a week later as an ambassador.

Platinum visit:
We drove up into the hotel and the bellboys immediately surounds us, opened our car doors, took my jacket from me, unloaded all the suitcases, and parked the car for us. Quiet a nice experience not having to even call a bellboy over to the car let alone 4.

Was warmly greeted at check in. Was asked for F&F coupon. Upgraded to a newly renovated executive room on the 20th floor. Given an extremely comfortable roll away bed for an additional guest. We were not charged extra for the roll away bed or an additional guest.

The room was absolutely stunning. It was like entering a marble palace. We all comfortably could fit in the room. The room had an attached salon with 2 single person leather sofas, a coffee table, a large desk and leather chair. The beds and blankets were extremely clean and comfortable. We had our best nights in them.

We all really enjoyed the view of the sea. The hotel overlooks a mosque and the Mediterranean sea. Watching the sunset from the room was magnificent.

The following week we stayed at this hotel again. I purchased ambassador status with points but it had not yet been updated on my profile. At checkin I told the checkin girl and she said if I email her my receipt they will honor the ambassador status for this stay. Boy, did they honor the status. They had no one or two level upgrade rooms available so the girl went to talk to her manager and we got approved for a upgrade to the club suite with club access.

The club suite was located in the corner of the 18th floor. The one we stayed in was not recently renovated and my personal preference would be to stay in the renovated executive room over the club suite. After experiencing the decor in the newly renovated room it was hard to settle for something slightly less magnificent. The suite had a nice large hallway, a seperate salon, a bedroom, and a bathroom that was larger than the holiday inn room I stayed at in London. The room came with 2 glass bottles of mineral water, bottle of wine, and fancy chocolates.

The bath rooms (in both the suite and the executive room) came with a lot of Dead Sea products, bath salts, mud soaps, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, etc.

As we only had club access on the Jewish sabbath I can not rate the hot food in the club. The food they put out consisted of sandwiches, cheeses, salads, etc. It was all tasty. What really made club access a great deal for families was that children under 18 were allowed to eat in the Atrium Lobby Lounge for free.

Very well recommended at $160 on the F&F rate. A complete steal for families at this rate if you are an ambassador and get upgraded to a club room or suite.
