US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Website and changing fare rules

So, I'm trying to price an upgradeable (non-V) trip to LGW.
I start by pricing PIT-LGW "flexible." I then run thru the fare rule choices until I find one that has the days I want and a non-"V" fare class. I choose it, choose my dates, and continue.
If I then view the fare rules, it has reverted to a "V" fare. ...?
Time to call the CP desk, I guess, but I wonder what is going on? I further wonder how angry I'd be if I went out of my way to book in a non-V fare class (and hence pay more) and then have it (web site) sell me a V (and hence no upgrade) fare.
On a related note--any CPs having trouble using DMUPSYS02s, even if you don't clear until the gate?

Saving the world, one clue at a time.
I've also noticed that the 24 hour hold option on the website has been removed from prospective ticket purchases. Makes it hard to hold a reservation while you check other aspects of the trip.

............
Which upgrade coupon is this? As a US1 we don't need upgrade coupons for domestic travel. So is this the international coupon?
If you choose flexible and/or non-refundable economy and then select a Q fare from the list then the stupid software reverts to the lowest fare for the selected dates when it asks for payment. I suppose it's programmed like that to give you the lowest fare, which is what 95% of the customers actually want.
I even found if you select flexible, and then select refundable it still reverts back to the cheapest V fare. That's *really* annoying. It only works if you select specific dates.
..... you simply have to do this type of fare on the phone.

Yes, It is the System Wide Upgrade that can be used to upgrade a flight 7 days (CP) before flight for domestic or international(higher than V fare). So for a CP it would be used only for international. Though if you want to be sure to get an upgrade you would probably use miles at time of booking.

Indeed the website is designed to book you in the lowest available fare. You can't specify a fare code. It also has a hard time recognizing what a nonrestricted fare is... even going to the extreme of telling you that fares are not published between your selected city pair (eg., PHL-IAH).
Kind of flies in the face of Ben B.'s goals, doesn't it?

Is it my imagination or did my favorite website get cranky and tough to use right after the transition to "3 Clicks to Purchase"? Getting to the point where I dread using it. Anyone agree?

I was looking at this last night, and here's the deal I think.
You select the fare class you want, then select your dates, then flights, and it shows you a price with a link to "fare rules". If you click that link, it shows you the lowest fare rules no matter what. HOWEVER, the fare it shows you is really what you had selected. If you go to the next page (after entering your password), and click on fare rules from there, it does show you the correct fare rules, and as already shown on the previous page, the correct fare. The problem only appears to be on the "fare rules" link from the one page where it first shows you total price for your trip.

Check http://dps2.usairways.com/cgi-bin/fq first for the base price of the non-V ticket, then choose the same priced ticket in the my flights are flexible screen.

I just tried to hold a reservation on usairways.com and the hold option has been removed.
Does anyone know if this is a temporary or permanent change? I rely on the hold occasionally while I research alternative travel plans.
Thanks,
Chris

Can't speak to whether its permanent, but none of the major sites will let me hold a USAirways ticket. I didnt cross-check to see whether it was JUST US tickets, or if the hold feature is generally gone.
