Los Angeles - Late night ideas at LAX

Next month I have a flight arriving LAX a little before midnight and a departure at 6AM the next day. Getting a hotel room after waiting for a shuttle, check in, wake up and shuttle back to LAX does not seem to make sense (maybe I would get three hours sleep.) I can shower and change at the AA AC the next morning at 5AM so that is not an issue.
Anything to do late night around LAX or do any of the terminals pre security have food options. I would have no issue doing a priceline for a rental car but that obvisiously could not involve any drinking activity.
Not an itinerary I would have wanted, but that's a moot point now. Things to do? Such as what? What would you expect? I can think of one thing you could so: sit and wait. That's it. And the options for doing even that outside of security areas may be very slim. You wouldn't be allowed into the boarding gate area? At least there are more chairs there. Not sure how late any eateries stay open. Maybe someplace is open all night but I don't know of any. http://www.ifly.com/los-angeles-international-airport/shops-stores may not be a comprehensive list. I didn't see anything open past midnight or open before 4:30 a.m. Of course, many eateries are inside the security areas.
I don't mind LAX at all, but would hate to spend the night there. Here are some views: http://www.sleepinginairports.com/usa/losangeles.htm
If you rent a car, where would you go? Nightclub? Maybe if you gave more info people could opine as to whether it's desirable, or at least feasible.

Actually, I am doing it for miles (double EQM DFW/LAX). I'm thinking maybe an all night/late night movie theatre. Thinking of also maybe driving along the coast. No, spending the night at T4 is not desirable but neither is spending $$ on a dumpy hotel room that I would get three hours sleep at most.

Here's some restaurants that are open 24/7:

The only movie threater that are kind of close that has show times after midnight that I know of is Century City AMC, and only on weekends: http://www.amctheatres.com/CenturyCity/
Last call in most of LA Couty is either 1 AM or 1:30 AM so bars and clubs will all be closing by the time you get there.
Plenty of all night eateries can be found in Koreatown but that is a long cab ride from LAX.

Hollywood Park Casino? S/B a short cab ride each way to/from LAX.
For the money you could spend on taxis to any of the above places you could get a hotel room, especially if you use Hotwire or Priceline, and at least get some rest, but if you're a night owl and don't need the sleep, you have some choices.

+1. Haha... Pay a cab to get there (about 3 miles away) and play poker for a few hours and make your money back! Unlike Vegas, food and drink is not free there. You can probably get a good 3-4 hours of gaming there.

Well, open 24 hours, but do liquor sales in Caifornia still stop at 2 a.m.? Taxiwiz.com (I don't how accurte they are) estimates $16, including tip, each way. But if you win big, it's all free!

Hmm... Interesting. I forgot about that. I don't drink when I play poker; I need all my faculties working. :) $16 sounds steep for just 3 miles. I take the taxi home sometimes (10-12 miles) and it's $30 after tip. There is an airport surcharge, but it's just one-way, and it's also around $2.50.
Anyway, moral of the story is: win your money back! You can make your whole trip free!

If you have a membership, the 24 Hour Fitness in Manhattan Beach is open 24 hours. You could take a shower there, exercise, nap in the sauna...it's reasonably close to LAX
