I found a really old thread about SFO rain delays but it was dated 2005, so I thought to avoid reviving dead threads, I'd post something more specific to my question.

I'm looking to getting tickets that are connecting through SFO in the first 3 weeks of February. Although I lived in the area for close to a decade, I don't remember the details about whether weather (pun intended :)) forced ground stops for incoming flights or caused delays. Is February relatively calm or harsh from a flying into and out of SFO point of view?

It's a mixed bag. If it rains hard, you can get anything and everything. Sometimes it can be pleasantly sunny and warm.

I have had weather delays in every month of the year. If it's a connection you're worried about give yourself lots of time. It's not so much rain as fog some months...and fog can close one or more runways.

SFO weather in February is a roll of the dice. I was just there for a month long stay over the holidays, and it was a mix of rain, cloudy, fog, and complete sunshine(In no particular order). As previously stated, make sure you have plenty of time during your connection.

Yep, low clouds/fog can cause delays at SFO any time of year. Heavy rain is more problematic, though, and that is not too likely before December and after March.

Thanks for all the input. 1.5h connection time set.

Also, SFO weather delays, when they occur, are more likely to be shorter early in the day when incoming traffic is lighter.
