Anyone want to go to Los Angeles this weekend? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

ESavers from all three hubs to LAX ...

Get Out More Bonuses ... West Coast bonuses ... this could be a real bonanza (that's my word of the day, obviously) mileage wise ...

You must get Esavers before me...I haven't seen this as of yet. How much from CLT?

Don't tell svpii about this, but you can check on Tuesday afternoon's on Orbitz for what the ESavers are for the upcoming weekend:

http://www.orbitz.com/App/PrepareDealsContent?spotType=DealsHomePage&toHome=false

Just put in CLT and select "This Weekend" ... once you know where they are too, you can find them on USAirways by entering the two cities and selecting "Flexible" and the ESaver will show up ...

To LAX from CLT this weekend it's $222 with all taxes and such on USAirways.com ... so, you interested dingo ... or did you just want to know how I knew ...

Can you upgrade these tickets? 6 hours in Y isn't an ideal mileage run.

Beckles

Yes, ESavers are upgradeable ...

I thought on the back of NAU it says cannot be used with standard awards or e-savers. You are the expert, so I'm wrong. Can you use miles to upgrade the reservation?

I don't have any "old" NAU's to know for sure what was on them, but ESavers were nonupgradeable during 2001, but that has since been rescinded and they are now upgradeable, with miles or DMUP01's ... among other things.

Ah Beckles, if only my little brother were not getting married this weekend - I would join you and the merry band of mileage runners to Los Angeles. However, wanting to keep family discord to a minimum, will not be able to join y'all. For whoever goes, enjoy the trip.

Do the bonuses apply for E-Savers? Thought they did but thought I saw a post where someone didn't get the bonuses on an e-saver.

Can't find the post now though.

Great idea, but I have plans for the weekend already set. Perhaps another weekend...before we all scatter off to other airlines

I am going on one of those short-lived SAN turn around fares Friday evening. Alone, crazed, and CP mileage-obsessed. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Other than the online booking bonus, no other bonuses apply on esavers. By the way, there are 172 esaver pairs this weekend, the highest ever !

I can't go but I checked ALB-LAX. The base is $198 and it is not an esaver.

Actually, the online booking bonus is specifically excluded according to the ESaver rules.

As for bonuses I'd say the rule that "no other bonuses apply on ESavers" probably falls into the same category as the rule that any given bonus is "Not valid with any other flight bonus offer" ... but that's just based on my personal experience ...

OK, I give up. Where in the rules does it say that E-Savers are ineligible for bonuses?

I'm very interested Beckles, but I don't know if I can wiggle out of my weekend committments to pull it off. How many miles might one pick up on a run to SFO or LAX for example? (can email me if you'd like). I've not hopped an E-saver for quite some time but feel time slipping away from me here.

Overkill ... we don't need to kill ourselves flying to SIN to earn top tier ... we can do it easily on Transcons or trips to Europe (like I'll be taking in a few weeks ...).

I just flew on a Labor Day promo E-fare and got the bonus posting on the return leg but nothing on the outbound!! However, the leg where the bonus posted, I had stood by for an earlier flight, which may had something to do with the bonus posting...

The labor day sale is not the same as the usual Efares. I flew an Efare the last weekend they were available (the weekend before the Labor Day weekend) and did receive the Get Out More bonus.

Okay, I'm booked on Flight 67 CLT-LAX on Saturday and Flight 6 on Sunday and there will be at least one other Flyertalker on those flights, but I will not post who (they can post here if they want that info available publicly ...).

I'll be emulating the original Prince of Pain, as I head from PIT-BTV on the D-328 (perhaps, if I drop a systemwide on them, they'll let me fly the plane).

I flew the D-328 for the first time recently and was in Seat 8A ... the flight is downright comfortable in that seat, there's a butt-load of legroom ... It's like Turbo-prop Envoy class ... Envoy seats are the only other seats I've seen with as much legroom (I think that seat may have more legroom even than the bulkhead seats in Envoy ...).

Foodguy, missed your post here prior to the trip. Had a wonderful, but short, trip to LA over the weekend. Upgraded on both flights w/ the Mrs., free night at the Airport Ren, free rental car. Went to the Getty Center, cruised up and down Hollywood and Sunset, hung out at Venice Beach for a while. All in all, quite an inexpensive trip...bring on the miles!
