US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Can we stomach paying for airline food? Washington Post articleView Full Version : Can we stomach paying for airline food? Washington Post article syzygy8 Sep 4, 02, 6:29 am http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A34912-2002Sep3.html PHL Sep 4, 02, 9:42 am I thought this was an interesting tidbit: US Airways' Baldanza, who oversaw the ticket-rule changes, said he was "overwhelmed" by the number of responses. Baldanza said some of the comments were "constructive," while others, such as those that referred to him as a seven-letter vulgarism, were not. Because of the amount of feedback, Baldanza said some of the planned changes might be altered slightly. But he declined to offer specifics. ********************** slightly altered....are we being heard?? will he have a job if the airline successfully completes reorganization? USSky Sep 4, 02, 9:45 am Oh B.Ben, How many aviation think tanks have you been kicked out of? us2 Sep 4, 02, 10:10 am According to the article, Baldanza will be in an online chat with the Post at 11am Friday... whlinder Sep 4, 02, 11:12 am That chat should be interesting, although last time a US executive was on chat with Wash. Post, they got a bunch of questions from, shall we say, 'less than savvy' travelers and it was worthless. stillontheroad Sep 4, 02, 1:23 pm From the article I quote: "To be sure, those passengers in first or business class would continue to be served meals, the executives said. That's because first-class passengers either paid top dollar to sit in that section or they have so many frequent-flier miles that they're valued customers of the airline" They obviously haven't seen/thought about the changes to the FF programs or they wouldn't have called us "valued customers" They should re-think the FF program changes if they want to do anything. jcrb Sep 4, 02, 1:26 pm <font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Originally posted by whlinder: That chat should be interesting, although last time a US executive was on chat with Wash. Cris L Sep 4, 02, 1:31 pm Using Randy sounds good to me. ITRADE Sep 4, 02, 1:33 pm In response to the original topic question, do we pay for food now? My infamous cold chicken plate last night was the meal by default as the kind catering folks in SAN forgot to load up a fruit plate - again. The chicken was barely edible and was only offset by some type of cold pasta which reminded me of something my dog left after a mild case of "the trots".
